Logotype for the little record label Dustbin Recordings.
The ”dustbin” part is custom type created especially for this project. I wanted to reflect their profile. They focus on publishing intellectual and downplayed dupstep and drum 'n' bass. I created symmetrical letters with small serifs and slightly rounded corners to give a cosy yet contemporary look.
“RECORDINGS” is written with Futura in uppercase to counterbalance the lowercase “dustbin”. I think that the typeface Futura has some of the same qualities as I tried to apply to the custom typography. Futura is symmetrical and modern but still retains a kind of friendly attitude. It seems as the perfect choice both conceptually and aesthetically.
