Hello my name is Kasper Ledet (1987). Born in Copenhagen where I still live. I’m working with graphic design and art.
I often ask myself: what is the difference between Design and Art? Some might argue that design is commercial and art is free. Design must be logical and art has the ability to be irrational and so on. I could go on arguing about this for ages. I personally don’t see the big difference between the two. I approach both self-initiated and commercial work the same way. I try to work conceptually above all. I try not to lock myself into a certain visual style. I would like to let the underlying concept be the driving force. It is of course impossible to avoid a personal style. There is always certain aesthetics you feel more comfortable with. I guess I especially like a cooked down visual approach.
I like exploring ideas. I think humour is an important part of both the final output and the process. I like to think that I’m in a constant process of learning. It would be extremely boring if I some day had leaned what I needed. I could then go on repeating myself for the rest of my career.
I think that the general interpretation of graphic design is too narrow. I would like to merge into other fields. Not feeling restricted by being a “graphic designer”. I think that graphic design is a whole lot more than setting text beautifully on a page. Curiosity is not limited to a certain professional field of work.
